Dark Horse GAME OF THRONES Figures - Series 8

Jorah Mormont and Sansa Stark...

Dark Horse GAME OF THRONES Figures - Series 8

Just in time for the holidays, Dark Horse has released another two character wave of Game of Thrones figures. The assortment is a much appreciated one-two punch for collectors of this series, following the just-released figures of The Hound and Brienne of Tarth

Jorah Mormont, former adviser to Daenerys Targaryen, was a major player at the beginning of Game of Thrones. Daenerys eventually kicked him to the curb after finding out he was a former spy, but the rough and ready soldier managed to find his way back on the show. How much longer he has on GoT is anyone's guess, but here's hoping he sticks around - I like the guy. Jorah's a great sword fighter and actor Iain Glen lends the character this older, wiser warrior vibe. Yeah, so he's got this mad crush on Daenerys. Can you really blame him? Dark Horse did a good job on this figure. The character is instantly recognizable due to the wonderful sculpting on Jorah's armor: a cool skirted chainmail combo. I love the dragon tail shoulder pads. As much as I'd like to see the figure with its sword drawn, Dark Horse wisely chose a more neutral stance. It more accurately reflects Jorah's defensive demeanor.

Sansa has had a rough time on Game of Thrones, especially in Season 5. She's a timid character, but she's starting to show some backbone. This is one of Dark Horse's more elegant sculpts, Sansa calmly posed with a note in her hand. A strong Sophie Turner portrait really helps this figure, though I'm a bit baffled by her dark hair. Sansa clearly has red hair on the show. Hummm. Regardless, her head sculpt is nicely done and her dress, while simple, has a regal charm.

The Hound and Brienne are tough acts to follow. Not only were they two of the larger collectibles in the series, but their armored look made them super appealing as fantasy figures. Jorah and Sansa are certainly aimed at avid Game of Thrones collectors, a fanbase Dark Horse is making very happy with this extensive figure series. Keep 'em coming Dark Horse!
