Bishoujo, Batman v Superman, & More...

Kotobukiya has several great product lineups based on the characters from DC Comics, and we’ve got updates on all of them from New York Toy Fair 2016! First up, and which caught everyone’s attention walking by the booth, are the upcoming ARTFX+ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice statues. Sold separately, the Man of Steel and Armored Batman look great on their own or combined into one diorama scene. These figures will be strictly limited, with no reprints, so if you’re interested then get your pre-orders in now.

NECA Toys provides new details and images of their upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 1/4″ Scale Batman figure. This figure is expected to ship in May 2016.

From the action-packed movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, this 1/4 scale Batman action figure is almost as imposing as the Dark Knight himself!

The figure stands just under 19” tall and has nearly 30 points of articulation for dynamic poses. Batman features plenty of movie-accurate detail and is sculpted with the likeness of actor Ben Affleck. Comes with two sets of hands, two different Batarangs, and Grapnel accessory with a clip that allows it to be attached to Batman’s belt.

USAToday has the jump on DC Collectibles New York ToyFair 2016 reveals and has the exclusive look at some upcoming figures and products.

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie is bringing some serious toy power this year, but DC Collectibles is also digging into Batman’s animated past for an expanded line of high-end action figures.
A new wave of toys is coming based on the popular Batman: The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures and Batman Beyond shows, and they’re going deeper than just the Dark Knight.
Six-inch Harley Quinn, Firefly, Harvey Bullock, Scarface, Talia al Ghul, Joker and Anti-Fire Suit Batman ($28 each) from The Animated Series are slated for September, as well as an oversized Clayface ($40). But the highlight is a huge Batwing ($100, October) that holds two figures and has light-up headlights, breaks and engine to go with last year’s Batmobile.
The New Batman Adventures inspired a “Girl’s Night Out” pack ($80, September) with Poison Ivy, Batgirl. Supergirl, Harley Quinn and Livewire, and a “Tales of the Dark Knight” set ($70, October) featuring Batman, Carrie Kelley Robin and Mutant Leader.

The futuristic Batman Beyond spawns a three-pack ($50, January 2017) with Bruce Wayne, Batman and Ace the Bat-Hound.
And for those getting ready for the holiday, December brings a Joker ($45) with Santa hat, Christmas tree and candy canes.
“Our popular Batman: The Animated Series line continues to strike a nostalgic chord with fans and it’s really exciting to see the positive reception,” said Kevin Kiniry, vice president of creative services at DC Entertainment.

New Bishoujo Statues: Spider-Gwen, Harley Quinn, More...

Ahead of the New York Toy Fair, Kotobukiya pulls back the curtain on numerous new Bishoujo Statues from their Marvel, DC and Horror collections. Fully revealed statues include Harley Quinn and Spider-Gwen. Concept art illustrations by Shunya Yamashita reveal new characters The Bride (Kill Bill), Edward Scissorhands, Chucky and Tiffany, Thor and Loki and Wonder Girl.

Super Powers Line Adds The Emerald Warrior...

Last summer I brought you a sneak peek at the first figure in Kotobukiya’s new line of DC Comics ARTFX+ Statues that replicate the look and feel of the old Kenner Super Powers action figures. Superman is of course going to be high on everyone’s list when a new line comes about, and as the inaugural character he made a big impact with his bright colors, cloth cape, and fun “action feature” replica parts. However, there was one superhero coming up a little farther down the line that really got me excited. You see, I’ve been a huge fan of Green Lantern since I was a little kid, and I still to this day have my Super Powers GL figure (in pretty good condition, no less). Today I’ll be taking a look at the Koto Green Lantern Classic Costume 1/10 ARTFX+ Statue, currently available wherever you buy toys and statues.

When Square Enix first announced the acquisition of the Arkham Asylum video game license, the speculations of which other characters would follow in future assortments ran wild. Just as fans expected, several new characters have been revealed as upcoming releases including Catwoman, Robin and even a Dark Knight Returns figure based on the bonus skin from the Arkham City video game. Although bat fans will need to wait until early next year for the release of the highly-anticipated Catwoman and Robin figures, the latest assortment of Arkham Asylum figures will keep collectors satisfied in the meantime. The epic confrontation between Batman and Superman will finally hit the silver screen this March in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice! After witnessing the chaos Superman brought upon Earth, Bruce Wayne is determined to stop the Kryptonian. Wearing his heavily armored Batsuit, Batman takes on the powerful Superman in the “greatest gladiator match in the history of the world”.

Following the official introduction of Batman and Superman, Hot Toys is excited to present today the 1:6th scale collectible figure of Armored Batman!

The movie-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Ben Affleck as Armored Batman from the film. It features a newly developed armored head with LED light-up eyes and two interchangeable lower faces capturing Ben Affleck’s facial expressions, meticulously crafted armor with weathering effects, detailed Batman weapons, and a specially designed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice themed figure stand.

Agile Arkham City Sidekick...

New video review, this time taking a look at Square Enix's latest addition to their Arkham City Play Arts Kai series. Following this review of Batman (Dark Knight Returns Skin) we take a look at Batman's agile sidekick, ROBIN.

DC Collectibles will be offering their Batman: The Animated Series Batmobile vehicle in a new deluxe set. This set will include their Robin and Batman figures with clothed capes, as well as Bat Signal, which is exclusive to this set.


The Batmobile itself is given some new paint apps including a metallic deco. The Bat Signal also lights-up as seen in the show.

For a whopping $175.00, the Batmobile will ship in August 2016.

Based on DC Comics New 52 Design...

Kotobukiya’s 1/7 ARTFX Statues have been a staple for years, with everything from comic book characters to Jedi and Sith, anime beauties and robots, and much more. Jack Nicholson's iconic 1989 comic movie role comes to life in 1/6th scale...

Hot Toys continues to impress fans and collectors both new and old with their impressive line of Deluxe Movie Masterpiece Series (MMS) figures, which feature more accessories and details than the company's regular MMS series. The latest 1/6th scale figure in the series comes courtesy of the 1989 classic Tim Burton film BATMAN starring Michael Keaton as the titular character and Jack Nicholson as his archenemy, Joker.
