NYTF16: Hasbro Transformers

Headmasters Evolve In Titans Return...

Hasbro started out their press event nearby New York Toy Fair 2016 this past weekend with a presentation on Transformers. They started with a brief look at the Titan Class Trypticon, winner of the fan vote, which is in development at this time. From what we saw it’s going to be HUGE and jam-packed with fun features updating the classic toy like they’ve done with Metroplex, etc. We also got to see a new trailer for Robots in Disguiseseason two and a few new toys. In the Warriors Class will be a new Windblade and Scorponok, and Power Surge Optimus Prime will come with the Acrobolt Minicon that activates all sorts of special features like pop up armor and weapons. There will be an Entertainment Earth exclusive Platinum Edition Warrior Bumblebee, and the first RID character joining the Generations lineup in the Voyager scale will be Grimlock.

The Generations line continues the “Prime Wars Trilogy” with the new Titans Return segment, and its backed up by some additional items like the Earth Wars Combat City Builder mobile game and Roll Out music album. Titans Return toys will be running this year and into next and feature large transformers with tiny activators called Titan Masters (very similar to old Headmasters) which are interchangeable across the line and in the different scales. The series is headlined by the massive Fortress Maximus, nearly two feet tall with multiple modes, attachment points for Leader Class toys, pegs all over it for Titan Masters, and a full size Cerebros figure making its head with its own Titan Master “Emissary” (Spike).

Among the toys revealed were:
-2016 Leader Class Wave 2 Soundwave with Soundblaster that turns into a tape deck and battle station
-2016 Deluxe Wave 1 Blurr and Hyperfire, Scourge and Fracas
-2016 Deluxe Wave 2 Chromedome and StylorMindwipe and Vorath
-2016 Legends Wave 1 Wheelie
-2016 Legends Wave 2 Rumble (red), Laserbeak
-Platinum Edition Armada of Cyclonus three-pack with Scourge and Sweep will be a Kmart exclusive

The Transformers team will have more reveals at BotCon 2016 in April in Kentucky, and of course lots to see at SDCC so join us then.
