KING HULK Premium Format review.

“That’s the best Hulk you ever bought”

Sculpt body/face and pose – All 5 out of 5 – One of the main issues people had with the original Gladiator Hulk was that it had that Huge shield covering much of the sculpt. That is not the case here. You can see the beautiful sculpt done by the talented artist at SSC in all of its glorie. I gave Gladiator Hulk a 9.5 out of 10 and the lack of Peck muscle size was the reason. Well it’s the same sculpt here but yet due to the slight change in look it seems to make an improvement. Perhaps it’s because he pectoral muscle looks slightly flexed holding that giant ax. I don’t know. All I know is that this sculpt to me is perfect. It looks great from every angle. While the lack of a shield shows off much more of the sculpt, so does the lack of helmet and change in “skirt” I Love how the face sculpt looks now. It was great in Gladiator Hulk but now you can see it all and it’s just fantastic. Hulk is about to lay a serious smack down on someone. It is also a slightly different head sculpt as King Hulks nose is broader than Gladiator’s. I also like the new loin cloth Hulk has. It’s Just another way to see more of this perfect sculpt.

The Battle Ax and sword are both Huge and fit this piece so well. I think it is apparent that this sculpt was made for King Hulk and that Gladiator Hulk may have been an afterthought. I don’t know. But the SSC preview that we saw before either of these were announced leads me to believe I am right.
The Base is also slightly different with a NY city base as opposed to the Planet Sakaar base. I prefer the base on this piece also. This statue comes with some pipes that you can stick in the back and just gives it that extra something. I like that it has a sewage vent on the other side also. Perhaps it’s because these things are more familiar then a Planet Sakaar base thus it gives it a more realistic look.

Dark Horse GAME OF THRONES Figures - GREY WORM

Chosen Commander Of The Unsullied...

The sixth season of HBO's Game of Thrones doesn't start until this April, but Dark Horse has your fantasy fix now. Following the December release of Jorah Mormont and Sansa Stark comes the chosen commander of the Unsulllied, Grey Worm! A warrior whose reputation for combat is without equal, Grey Worm is also a main advisor to Daenerys Targaryen.

Grey Worm is an exciting addition to the series. While it's hard to top the armored looks of The Hound and Brienne, Grey Worm delivers some exotic variety to the line with his streamlined weapons an attire. His long spear brings the figure's height to a staggering 12-inches tall and the round shield, a first for the series, is rendered with a realistic sculpt and paint apps.

At Hasbro’s press event in New York we got to see a variety of products that will be arriving on shelves in the coming months, though we should warn you now that there was NOTHING shown from Rogue One. We all have to wait a few months to start seeing stuff from that movie, but Hasbro did reveal that the San Diego Comic-Con Black Series exclusive this year will be something from Rogue One, so that’s cool. Alright, let’s talk about what they did reveal! For the kiddies there’s more Galactic Heroes on the way focusing on the Force Awakens and the film’s main characters. Two-packs will bring Poe Dameron and BB-8, Han Solo and the Crimson Corsair, and Captain Phasma and Rey, while Admiral Ackbar will come with a resistance base set. NYTF16: Kotobukiya Marvel Comics

Thanos Dominates Toy Fair...

Japanese toy and statue giant Kotobukiya brought a very impressive display to New York Toy Fair 2016, and it included a section devoted to the heroes and villains of Marvel Comics. What immediately caught our eyes was the enormous Fine Art Statue of Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet! He’s beastly and huge, was sculpted by Erick Sosa, and will include two portraits: one grinning and the other baring his teeth. Also on display from the Fine Art Statue line was the upcoming Black Panther which looked awesome.

The Marvel Bishoujo line is going stronger than ever, and representing it in the display case were the two beauties Lady Deadpool (with cool alternate heads and parts) and a prototype of the recently announced Spider-Gwen which will be a fan favorite. A new reveal at the show was the full color artwork for the upcoming Thor and Loki!

A separate display case held two entire teams of Marvel ARTFX+ characters: the Avengers and the All-New X-Men! This was the first time we’ve seen a painted prototype of the finale figure of Wolverine, and there was also a production version of Beast. In that display were both color variants of Magneto, and while only the black-costumed Emma Frost made an appearance over at the Diamond Select Toys booth attendees could see the variant in white. Meanwhile, as Wolverine finishes the X-Men team Kotobukiya is looking ahead at the next ARTFX+ series which will focus on everyone's favorite web-slinger! Expect to see Spider-Man, Venom, and other related characters in a lineup based on artwork by Marvel's Stefano Caselli.
